Meet Victoria, local finalist of the 2010 Wrestlemania Reading Challenge

Winning the Wrestlemania Reading Challenge is not the only claim to fame for Victoria. Singing, acting, and playing music are what she does best. In fact, you may have seen her perform recently at Shawnee Mission South as part of the cast in Jesus Christ Superstar.

You may be asking how a lady of the fine arts became a fan of WWE wrestling. Victoria likes wrestling due to the drama and story involved as well as the skill it takes to be a wrestler. Every day Victoria talks with her best friend Aaron about the previous night’s show. “We talk about how someone could have won the match or how somebody cheated,” explained Victoria.

The possibility of attending Wrestlemania 2010 is why Victoria registered for the contest at Oak Park Library. “Her illustrated bookmark finished in the local finals”, said librarian Stephanie Iser. “The bookmarks she designed were so popular that we have already handed out half of them.”

Victoria’s favorite books are horror reads because she enjoys a good scare. She wants to read a book called Crossroads by Chris Grabenstein because she heard it was the scariest book that one of her teachers ever read. “If it’s scary for an adult, it’s probably scary enough for me,” said Victoria.
