Teen Film and Faith Discussion

Feature image.

The Festival of Faiths is in its third year of celebrating religious diversity here in Kansas City, and this year Johnson County Library will help celebrate with a special event for teens! On Sunday, Nov. 1, the Library and the Kansas City Interfaith Youth Alliance will show the film Arranged followed by discussion. This event will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the Central Resource Library. It is for teens ages 13 and up, and refreshments will be provided.

Movie synopsis: “Friendship has no religion.” Two young women — one an Orthodox Jew, the other Muslim — meet and become friends as first-year teachers at a public school in Brooklyn. Over the course of the year they learn they share much in common, not least of which is that they are both going through arranged marriages.
